Hello there and thank you for visiting Christineify!
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Christine (surprise!). My husband, son and I live together in Ontario, Canada. We also share our home with our dog, Annie and cat, Steve.
I decided to start this blog to share my love for crochet, creating and all things cozy. I hope to pass along some information that you might find useful in your own life and hobbies! First, let me share a little bit more about me.
Before my son was born, my hobby of choice was cross stitch. I would cross stitch whenever I had free time and completed very large projects. Not suprisingly, once I had a little baby to take care of, I found I no longer had the time or the energy to cross stitch. My desire to create never left me however.
As the little dude became more independent, I got back to cross stitch but found that my set up was too difficult to put aside during the constant interruptions. I decided I needed something else that was easier to pick up and put down at a moments notice. And that is when I discovered crochet.
I have always loved yarn and always wished I could do something with all the beautiful fibres out there. I had tried knitting once or twice before (and have tried a few more times since) and it just didn’t grab my interest. When I discovered crochet videos, I was hooked (no pun intended).
Watching crochet videos is something I love to do. I taught myself how to crochet over YouTube tutorials with a little assistance from my mom. I have not stopped since. I crochet as often as I can. I love the freedom of being able to basically create whenever and wherever I am! My cross stitch supplies still sit in my house, but I have not picked it up in years. I would like to get back to it as well but there are just so many things to be done with crochet!
As much as I love yarn and crochet, I also enjoy trying out other creative things. My son is a massive inspiration for me. I have made costumes, masks, quiet books, birthday cakes and so many other things with him in mind.
Another inspiration for me is my home. Before my son was even born, my husband and I bought our first house. While it is no mansion, it is our castle. A lot of effort goes into making it clean, organized and cozy for our little family. This has also become a bit of a hobby and a fun challenge for me. I am always looking for ways to improve our surroundings.
I hope you will follow along my creative blog journey with me and that I can pass on some new information to you. It is my aim to inspire all my readers.
Thank you for joining me and happy creating!
Christine
